Story of the rue du Bac design

The Rue du bac embroidery design is as the name indicates, inspired by a street scene on Rue du bac in Paris. If you've ever been to Paris you might've fond yourself dreaming about the spacious rooftop studios with lovely balconies. At least we have! Many times! When you walk the streets of Paris, you simply can't help but to look up at the beautiful buildings.

Rue du bac is situated in the 7th arrondissement of Paris, just next to where we used to live. Even though the 7th district is one of the finer ones, we lived in a less spacious studio to say the least... More precisely a studio of a mere 18m2. Thus, every day when we returned home and saw these balcony apartments, we used to dream about what it would be like to live there. We'd most likely move out on the balcony and enjoy the view from a top! What would you do?

Considering the amount of time it takes to stitch a complete embroidery, you have time to reflect throughout the process. In fact, this is one of the greatest perks of stitching. It allows you time to sit back, relax and think while simultaneously being creatively productive. In short, a win-win!

As we often say: each stitch brings you closer to whatever it is you're stitching. Who knows, if you stitch this Rue du bac embroidery design, you might as well find yourself in a similar top-floor studio some years down the road!
