Story of the Rue des Petits Champs design

Have you been on the look for small embroidery patterns? No need to look further! This mini pattern for hand embroidery was inspired by one of the majestic buildings on Rue des Petits Champs, Paris.

The pattern fits into a small 10cm (4") diameter embroidery hoop. Thanks to its smaller size, it's perfect for you with limited time to stitch. Often times the smaller designs are less inspiring, but we want to change that. That's why we've created an authentic mini version of our otherwise larger architectural patterns.

To capture the graphical look of the design we recommend to embroider with the back stitch technique. Furthermore, considering it's small size, you should embroider it with only a single stranded thread. Charles has stitched the design with black for a contemporary feel. However, you can easily use whichever color that you find most beautiful. For example, it could be wonderful with a beige or dark grey tone to emphasis the historical aspect of the design.
